GDPR Privacy Policy
The following information may need to be collected before your dogs first groom:
- Name
- Postal address
- Email address
- Contact telephone numbers
- Veterinary contact details
- Information relevant to your dog
The information gathered will be used for:
- Internal record keeping
- Contact regarding your dog’s appointments
- Promotions
- Emergencies
- Your information will not be shared with any third party without your permission
- Your information will be kept on our client record cards, T&C consent form and appointment booking system
- Information will be kept securely for up to one year after your dog’s last visit
Welfare
A health check will be carried out before every groom. If there are any concerns the owner will be informed either before the groom or after. I am not a medical professional, and I can only alert the owner to possible medical issues and advise the owner to seek veterinary attention.
Aggression
Please inform me of any previous aggression your dog has shown or difficult behaviours. We can then discuss the behaviours and options. I reserve the right to refuse to groom a dog that I feel could cause harm to myself. If a dog shows aggression during the groom I have the right to use a muzzle. If the groom can not be completed due to the dog’s behaviour or welfare of the dog, the owner agrees to pay for any work carried out to that point.
Matted Fur
The welfare of your dog is always my priority, I will attempt to remove mats before shaving but if this causes your dog distress or pain then I will shave the coat. A severely matted coat will be shaved close to the skin using clippers. This can sometimes cause skin irritation or skin nicks. I will not be held responsible for any after effect caused by this. Brushing your dog regularly can prevent these situations and I am happy to advise on grooming tools and information regarding your dog’s coat and grooming needs. There may be an extra cost if the dog is severely matted to cover extra time and wear on tools.
Insurance
Wally’s Dog Grooming have full public liability insurance to cover damage, accident or loss to your pet or our staff.
Cancellation of Appointments
Please give me 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or rearrange your appointment. I understand this cannot always be possible, but it may incur a fee due to loss of time. This is at my discretion.
Photographs
For marketing and promotional purposes photographs may be taken of your dog. These may be used on the website and social media. Please inform us if you do not wish your pet to be photographed and used for marketing purposes.
Fleas and Parasites
If you suspect that your dog has fleas, please do not bring them to the salon. Treat them at home and do not attend an appointment until they are clear. If fleas are found on your dog during grooming there will be an extra charge added to cover the cost of flea shampoo and a deep clean of the salon to maintain salon hygiene.
Disclaimer
I the client confirm to the best of my knowledge my dog is fit and healthy and have informed the groomer of any health conditions and difficult behaviours. I agree that the groomer will not be held responsible for irritation, abrasion, patchiness or hair loss due to pre-existing skin conditions or as a result of the process of grooming, de-matting, thinning, stripping or shaving. I confirm all details provided are correct.
